A family foundation promoting
social equity
in Oregon communities
We believe systems change is the most powerful way to address the root causes of inequity and bring about positive social transformation.
Yarg Foundation believes in meaningfully committing to the organizations and communities which serve Yarg’s mission.
In 2026, the Yarg Foundation
is focusing on the final implementation of the two primary funding focuses since 2020: the multi-year, $5M Justice Reform Initiative and the multi-year, $5M Healthy Families Initiative. We are also committed to our focus areas of Civic Engagement and Climate Change. Our 2026 grant budget of approximately $1M is almost completely allocated to multi-year grants in these areas and there are no new open grant opportunities at this time.
Yarg continues to stand firm in our commitments to center community voices and to serve as a connector in the philanthropic and non-profit landscape. In the event that we do have open grant opportunities they will be posted on our website and we will reach out to our grantees in alignment with those opportunities.
Areas of Funding
Healthy Families, Justice Reform
Civic Engagement and Climate Change
This funding is targeted to a specific issue or geography in Oregon.
Multi-year funding commitments are an important part of Yarg Foundation’s strategy of stable investment in the organizations funded through the Justice Reform Initiative (2020-2027) and the Healthy Families Initiative (2020-2027). Civic Engagement funding focuses on voter education, supporting rural media and youth media literacy and has been allocated accordingly. Yarg Foundation has made a multi-year commitment to Gray Family Foundation’s Youth Leadership for the Environment grant program as the foundation’s allocation to the Climate Change focus. There will be no new open grant opportunities in 2026.
